a million+ cups of coffee for educators

a million+ cups of coffee for educators

Educating the next generation takes a whole lot of talent, energy, and patience. As the first half of the school year wraps up, we’re fueling faculty lounges and the superheroes inside them.

We launched in May, offering free coffee for deserving educators for Teacher Appreciation Week, and expanded our efforts in a big way this fall. To date, happy® has donated over 1 million free cups of coffee to teachers and school staff in 37 states across the country.

How did it work? In partnership with National PTA we offered eligible PTAs the chance to fully stock their school and others nearby with keurig compatible pods (that’s a lotta coffee). Those shipments are rolling out through early December and will reach over 350 incredible schools! Mel, our happy advocate, had the pleasure of announcing the New York State recipients at the recent state PTA convention in Niagara Falls.

Along with each donation, we offer a mental health resource poster to hang in the faculty lounge or another visible location. We designed this poster together with our partners at the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) to destigmatize and foster conversations about mental health. Over 2,500 have been shipped or printed, and counting. It’s a small but meaningful way to make mental health support as easy to reach as a great cup of coffee.

That’s not all. YOU can get involved. Starting in early December, nominate a deserving teacher in your life to receive a year’s supply of happy® coffee. Just follow @we_are_happy_products on Instagram (if you don’t already) and stay tuned for more on how to enter!
